BASIC QUICKSTEP ROUTINE
This script details basic dance steps and figures suitable for beginners in quickstep

Abbreviations:             HT = Heel Toe, TH = Toe Heel, WF = Whole Foot, T = Toe,

Begin with man facing and lady backing diagonal wall (DW) of long side, walk one preparation step: Man - Left foot forward, Lady - right foot back

MAN

Quarter Turn:

1

Slow

Right foot forward (HT)

Begin to turn to right.

2

Quick

Left foot side  (T)

1/8 turn to right between 1-2.

Quick

Right foot closes to left foot (T)

1/8 turn to right between 2-3.

Slow

Left foot side & slightly back (TH)

End backing diagonal center (DC)

Progressive Chasse:

Slow

Right foot back (TH)

Begin to turn to left.

Quick

Left foot side (T)

1/4 turn to left between 1-2, body turns less.

Quick

Right foot closes to left foot (T)

Body completes turn.

Slow

Left foot side & slightly forward (TH)

End facing DW, preparing to step outside partner (OP) on following step.

 

 

 

Forward Lock:
