

This script was choreographed and scripted by the author for beginners to learn the basic Samba figures.
Steps are given for the man - lady does the natural opposite.
Music suggestion: Quand tu Chantes BPM 51
Abbreviations :
L = left, R = right, LF
= left foot; RF = right foot; LH = left hand, RH = right hand, fwd = forward,
, S = slow; Q = quick,
LOD = Line of dance, DC = diagonal centre, DW = diagonal wall;
Start facing LOD, feet together, in side by side LH to RH hold.
Dig left heel fwd, cross LF in front and tap toe (1,2)
Repeat once. (2,2)
Cruzado locks fwd down LOD, L,R,L and R.L.R (3a2, 4a2)
3 walks fwd L.R.L. lift R knee and flick foot fwd (5,2 6,2)
2 walks back (against LOD) R.L turn to partner taking double hand hold, step
RF to side and tap LF to RF (7,2 8,2)
Take up normal samba hold:
4 Samba whisks to L, R, L and R ending in promenade position facing LOD. (9a2
10a2 11a2 12a2)
3 Samba walks down LOD (13a2, 14a2, 15a2)
Side samba walk ending in shadow position (lady in front) and man's LH to lady's
RH hold (16a2)
In shadow position:
4 Shadow Bota Fogos (Criss cross Bota Fogos) alternately facing LOD but moving
DW and DC. (17a2, 18a2, 19a2, 20a2)
Criss Cross Voltas curving to face DC and then curving to face DW allowing lady
to cross in front from man's R to L and then in front man's L to R. (21a2,22a2
23a2,24a2)
Take up RH to LH hold in side by side position both facing LOD and start again.
