ABOUT US

Our smallholding in CaioWe have been living in our smallholding in Caio, Carmarthenshire for thirteen years now - here's a picture of our house taken in 1975. Ours is the barn in the foreground not the farmhouse opposite.

Converting the barn to a house took just over a year and most of it had to be knocked down and rebuilt. The land here is wet boulder clay and, if we are lucky with the weather, provides grazing for sheep and cattle between March and late October each year.

Just recently we have started on the transformation of the grounds around the house from building site to garden and thought it might be of interest to document some of our latest Garden Projects

BALLROOM and LATIN DANCING
- Another interest of ours is Ballroom and Latin American dancing. With the assistance of my husband I teach ballroom and latin dancing to beginners and improvers locally. We hold a social dance in St James' Hall, Cwmann near Lampeter on the last Saturday of each month where everyone is welcome. Most dance teaching is done in the winter months but I do take private lessons through the summer on request. Details of our classes and other information can be found here.

Other opportunities to ballroom dance a little further away include a social dance on the first Saturday of the month in Maradunum School, Johnstown, Carmarthen and a tea dance on the first Thursday of the month in Rhys Pritchard Hall, Brecon Road, Llandovery (2pm-4pm).
